See & Do
Mountains
The White Mountains begin around Plymouth. A half of an hour drive north and you'll see the majestic Cannon Mountain. There's flume gorge, hiking galore, Mt. Washington Cog Railway, and more.
Mount Washington
Mount Washington, in New Hampshire, is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288.2 ft (1,916.6 m) and the most topographically prominent mountain east of the Mississippi River.
The mountain is notorious for its erratic weather.
Visit Mount Washington Observatory taking the notorious Cog Railway to the top of the mountain. You can literally see for miles (most of the time).
Cannon Mountain
Cannon Mountain is New Hampshire's only state-owned ski area, located in Franconia Notch State Park. You can walk a paved trail to view Profile Rock, ride the Aerial Tramway to hike the ridge or just appreciate the view!
